How to Store Maw&Paw Food
Since our food is made fresh without preservatives, it should be handled like any real, wholesome meal. Follow these steps:
- Upon Delivery: Remove the 16 oz containers from the box.
- Refrigeration: Place a few containers in your refrigerator for immediate use.
- Freezing: Store the remaining containers in your freezer until you’re ready to defrost and serve.
- Temperature: Always keep the food at a safe, consistent temperature until use.

How to Defrost Maw&Paw Food
For best quality and safety, defrost your food as follows:
- Refrigerator Method: Remove a 16 oz container from the freezer and place it in the refrigerator at least 12 hours before feeding. Once thawed, the food is safe in the fridge for up to four days.
- Quick Thaw: If you’re in a hurry, you may run the sealed container under cold water. However, we recommend the refrigerator method for optimal taste and texture.
- Safety Reminder: If the food has been left out of refrigeration for more than 2 hours (or 1 hour when temperatures exceed 90°F), discard it following USDA guidelines. Do not attempt to re-cool food that has been at room temperature too long.

How to Serve Maw&Paw Food
Our 16 oz containers are designed for simplicity and accuracy in portioning:
For a Full Container Serving:
Remove the lid from the container.
Pour or use a scoop (or clean utensil) to transfer the entire contents into your dog’s bowl.
If desired, stir lightly with a fork for a more uniform texture.
Rinse the container (if reusable) and recycle as appropriate.
For a Partial Serving:
Open the container and measure out the portion recommended on the label.
Immediately return any unused food to the container, securely re-cover it, and place it back in the refrigerator.
Important: Do not leave any opened container out for longer than 2 hours (or 1 hour in temperatures above 90°F).
Determining the Right Portion
Feeding your dog the correct amount is key to a long, healthy life. When you sign up for a plan with [Your Company], we ask for details such as your dog’s age, weight, breed, activity level, and more. Using this information, we pre-portion meals to meet your dog’s specific calorie needs—eliminating the need for measuring cups or guesswork. Adjustments can always be made as your dog grows or as recommended by your veterinarian.
Mind the Treats
While healthy treats can be a great way to reward and train your dog, they should never exceed 10% of your dog’s daily caloric intake. Keeping treats in check helps prevent unwanted weight gain and supports overall health.
